Description: Padina pavonica is a brown seaweed found in Atlantic Ocean and in Mediterranean Sea.
Its abundant from June to September and its appearance its quite particular because of its whiteness
derivative of a deposit of calcium carbonate.
When young, the front is thin, leafy and flat but in mature specimens it takes a concave shape with an irregularly lobed margin.
The inner surface is covered in a thin coating slime and the outer surface is banded with different kinds of colors.
