Description:

Distinguished from Dictyota by their greater stature and the midrib; thallus erect and can be present or not fine veins in the lateral wings. Dictyopteris polypodioides can reach up to 30cm long and 2-3cm broad. Its color is more yellow translucent when young, becoming more yellow-brown when mature. It has a characteristic unpleasant odor after collection but it fades quickly.
