Description:

Dyctyota dichotomy (Hudson) J.V.Lamouroux belongs to the largest marine multicelular algae class - Phaeophyceae (usually known as 'brown algaes'). Typically, Dictyota dichotomy's tallus is flat with fairly regular forked dichotomos branches with parallel sides. The fronds are thin and translucent (golden-brown). There is not a midrib. The reprodutive structures are scattered over the fronds. Habitats are calm and preferably shallow. It is a common algae and widely distributed.
