Description: Is a small and deciduous macroalgae, belonging to the Class Phaeophyceae, has a apical and basal regions very differentiated. Has a solitary thalli, cylindrical axis and shape of a bush; presents dense spines in the lateral branch wich presents a irregular shape and a spiral rising; branches have round fruiting bodies at the end, this fruiting bodies may have air bladders in the their bases; displays, occasionally, when under water bluish or greenish iridescence, has a yellow, olive or light brown colour and black coloration when dry; attached by a large conical disc.
