Description:

Thallus consisting of pinnnately branched cylindrical or almost cylindrical fronds, usually entangled and covering the substrate. Fronds dark red or blackish,  with pointed apices. Sometimes apices bleached.
On rocks, grows between middle shore and curved and sharply pointed. shallow subtidal levels.
