Description: |
Bornetia secundiflora is a annual algae dark red in colour, firm and rigid when fresh, with similar gametophytes and terasporophytes, and reproductive organs surrounded by small arms protective. The branches are sparse at the base becoming more dense towards the apices. This specie shows little variation other than in overall size and is one of the most easily recognisable member of the Ceramiaceae. Is an infralittoral specie, of quiet spots on bedrock, often partially covered with sand. |
