Specimen originally identified, by Eustácio de Veiga, as Pycnophycus tuberculatus Kg.. Their identification was revised by R. Lami for Bifurcaria tuberculata (Huds.) Stackhouse. However, the currently accepted taxonomic classification, review by Leonel Pereira, is Bifurcaria bifurcata R. Ross, according to the publication of Ross, R. (1958). The type of Bifurcaria Stackhouse Species, Journal of the Linnean Society of London, Botany, 55: 753-754. Present in the original herbarium sheet No. 17.
Espécime identificado originalmente, por Eustácio de Veiga, como Pycnophycus tuberculatus Kg.. A sua identificação foi revista, por R. Lami, para Bifurcaria tuberculata (Huds.) Stackhouse.
