Specimen originally identified as Phyllacantha fibrosa Kg.. Their identification was valid, in February 1963, conducted by J. E. de Mesquita Rodrigues in Coimbra, as Cystoseira baccata (Gmel.) Silva, according publication of Silva, P.C. (1952). A review of nomenclatural conservation in the algae from the point of view of the type method. University of California Publications in Botany 25: 241-323. This specimen belong to "Herbário Affonso Dias Moreira Padrão". This specimen is found in "Folder 18".
