Specimen identified originally, by I. Newton, as Phyllacantha fibrosa Kg.. Was later identified as Cystoseira fibrosa (Huds.) Agardh. However, the classification valid today, reviewed by Leonel Pereira, is Cystoseira baccata (Gmel.) Silva (whose synonym is Cystoseira fibrosa (Huds.) C. Agardh), according publication of Silva, P.C. (1952). A review of nomenclatural conservation in the algae from the point of view of the type method. University of California Publications in Botany 25: 241-323. Specimen has the No. 25 in the original sheet of herbarium. This specimen is found in "Folder 18".
