Specimen originally identified as Cystoseira granulata Ag.. Was later identified as Cystoseira hoppei Ag.. Your identification has been reviewed by R. Lami for Cystoseira barbata (Good & Woodward.) Agardh var. hopii. However, their correct identification, performed by Leonel Pereira, is Cystoseira usneoides (Linnaeus) M. Roberts, according publication of Roberts, M. (1968). Large sized tallus, formed by a central axis and lateral branches with secondary branches - the ones which are closer from basis are flattened and have a foliaceous aspect. Presents numerous vesicles. Habitat: Marine species: Is present in relatively deep rocky areas crossed by currents. |
