Notes: Filipa Mendes, Mariana Horta; Santa Eulália del Rio, Ibiza, Spain - Santa Eulalia del Rio is located next to a large bay with the promontory of Punta Arabi at the east end. It is the third largest coastal town on the island of Ibiza, is composed of two beaches, which are always kept clean, and also has the only river flowing to the sea. There is a triple arch bridge, Pont Vell, going through a rocky valley and thought to have been built by the Romans.
Description:

Sargassum vulgare has a thalli reaching 150-700mm high; the fronds are pyramidal, flattened and possess a central rib and undulated edge. The base of the fronds has hollow, spherical vesicles, of 5-8mm, and clusters of reproductive bodies; these are held in place by a pedicle. The alga is attached to the substrate with irregular rhizoidal branches. S. vulgare has an olive brown to dark brown colouration.
