Cala Jondal, Ibiza, Spain: Halfway between San Jose and Ibiza town, it is easily accessible. Long beach with crystal-clear waters. The Cala Jondal is surrounded by pines and jagged cliffs, very popular with boat owners.This conservation area of natural beauty has to be one of the last outposts of paradise. Overlooked only by a few exquisitely architected homes high up on the surrounding green hills, the white pebbly beach is dotted here and there with the shade of pine trees before sloping to the glittering, crystal clear waters. Many Beach Clubs build up sandy parts and provide safe access into the water with little bridges or ramps. After a few meters the seabed is sandy, so bathing is pure joy. |

Cystoseira humilis is an seaweed belonging to the class Phaeophyceae, having greenish-brown. Characterized by having an arbuscular stalk with small and ovoid aerocysts and axial receptacles which develop in the thick boughs.. Rugged and rough to the touch stalk. Cystoseira humilis old plants have an elongated main axis, and in time the primary laterals become proportionally elongated. Their lower parts are strongly flattened into ‘foliar expansions’ or basal leaves. Fertile regions which bear conceptacles are known as receptacles. These are normally found at the tips of the branches. Aerocysts are air vesicles that allow the algae to remain upright even being exposed to strong currents. Fronds are highly branched, fixed to the substrate by a discoidal foot. |
