Alesund is characterized by sea port as also in unique concentration of Art Nouveau architecture. This city is known by her maritime climate with a large coast where lives a large amount of marine life, provided by mild and windy winters which January is the coldest month of the year (mean temperature of 1.3 ºC).
Description:

Dilsea carnosa is characterized by dark red color and sometimes can become yellow. Known as one of the biggest seaweeds are tough and leathery on the North Atlantic Ocean. The blades grown from a single disc shaped holdfast and have a cylindrical stipes however the older blades may be split from the margin towards the base. The blades are simple wedge or spoon shaped and can be 15-30 cm long and 5-20 cm wide. Reproducing in the low temperatures of the winter.
