Notes: Ana Mendes, Mafalda Neto Eskifjördur, Iceland Eskifjördur is a small seaside village near a mountain area in Eastern Iceland. Because of its location all of the resources come from the sea. Therefore, its culture and industry has been shaped by the sea for a long time. We can find shark and dried fish that is produced on the island, but we can also find spar mine where the largest spar crystals have been found.

Fucus spiralis

This organism is one of the most common seaweed that we can find on the shore. It grows in areas such as Atlantic, Europe and North American coasts. Fucus spiralis is olive brown colored, it can grow up to 40cm and lives for up to 4 years
