Notes: Juliana Silva, Luís Fernandes Marinha Beach, Lagoa, Portugal Praia da Marinha Beach, also known as Praia da Caramujeira Beach, presents a reasonable sized strip of white, clear, thin sand, bathed by calm and crystal waters, which are greatly enjoyed by diving fans. It has been considered, by the Michellin Guide, as obne of the 10 most beautiful beaches in Europe and one of the 100 most beautiful beaches in the world. From there, it's possible to sight two islets to west and east directions. Besides its great quality waters, Marinha Beach is also known for its beautiful cliffs. The access to the beach is made through a long staircase. All things considered, it's a wonderful place to relax, enjoying one of the most beautiful landscapes Portugal has to offer.
Description: Codium effusum is an encrusting algae, which adheres strongly to the rocky substrate through the thallus compact, which has a puffy appearance. It forms plates 5 to 15 cm wide and 1 cm thick. The color is dull olive green with the appearance of a thick felt and down feature of Codium.
