Notes: |
Frederico Pena, Dylan Torres.
This algae was collected in Porto Covo, Sines, Portugal, more specifically, at Praia dos Buizinhos. This is a small beach,
surrounded by cliff sides and rock formations in the water, almost creating a small bay. The name derives from the
significant amount of small conch shells present in its white sands.

Description: |
This algae has a very bright green coloring, very variable in size and blade shape, the latter occurring as flat blades or ruffled clumps. It also possesses tough rhizoids, dark in color, which it uses to attach itself to rock formations, where it is usually found. This algae can be usually found in shallow waters, often on tidepools. |
