Notes: Beatriz Sebastião, Marta Teixeira Porto Covo, Sines, Portugal It is located in Vicentina Cost and it is washed by the Atlantic Ocean. On its Northen region Porto Covo is limited by Oliveirinha riverside. The beach in known by its white and smooth sand and clear water, rich in tasty fish. It has waterfalls with origins in the high land. Porto Covo has a remarkable dune biodiversity, with plants capable of adapting to adverse conditions. Its sea temperature peak is in the range of 20 to 23 degrees.
Description: Cystoseira humilis belongs to Phaeophyceae (brown algaes) class, with branched fronds and extension witch allow a better fixation to the substract. This algae has its habitat in mid-littoral pools and sheltered places. It is a brown deep water algae.
