Notes: Nicoletta Giannini Catarina Coelho Porto Covo, Sines, Portugal: Porto Covo is a parish of Sines, located in the portuguese coast, more accurately in the western Alentejo. Porto Covo has 4813 km2 and about 1116 inhabitants and is very known by the beautifull beaches which attract many tourists in the summer.
Description:
Ceramium sp. is a genus of red, filamentous, algae that measures less than 30cm. The thallus is branched and the apexes present bifurcations and a little curvature. The cells can be ovoid or cylindrical and the filaments are arranjed in bands.
