The village of Porto Covo is located in Sines and it was created in december 31 of 1984. In the middle of the XVIII century, it was nothing but a small and cosy place that slowly developed above a cliff. Nowadays it is known for its beautiful beaches such as Praia Grande and Praia do Espingardeiro which makes this village an extremely interesting place for tourism.

Cystoseira humilis is a brown algae that is part of Sargassaceae family, mostly observed in Europe Atlantic Islands, Africa and South-west Asia. It has highly differentiated apical and basal regions, is characterized by the presence of air-vesicles, long axis and it usually grows on the edges of branches.
