This seaweed was found in Iceland, at the Vestmannaeyja archipelago, Heimaey island more preciously Stórhöfdi beach. Stórhöfdi is the southernmost volcano on the island and it’s known as the windiest place on Europe. Also holds the record for the lowest on land observation of air pressure.
It is 122 meters high, mostly precipitous, and occupied by a myriad of sea birds during the breeding season , which the Portuguese common name of these birds is “papagaio-do-mar “.

Saccharina latissima is a seaweed that is also known by the common names sea belt and Devil's apron, due to its shape. It can go from dark brown to yellowish brown and it’s a long narrow that can usually grow up to 5 meters long and 20 centimeters wide. The central band is dimpled while the margins are smoother with a wavy edge. The crinkled frond is stuck to the rock in the intertidal and sublittoral zones. This seaweed is commonly found on the lower shore in the North Atlantic from the Barents Sea to Galicia on the coast of Spain.
