Description: Gracilaria multipartita is a species of red algae that is found in coastal areas.This algae can be translucent, dull purple or reddish-brownIt belongs to the family Gracilareaceae and it has long, cylindrical branches, with these branches measuring up to 25 cm long.It grows on rocks and it is commonly found in tropical and subtropical regions.This species has been introduced to several regions outside of its native range, like the Mediterranean, where it is considered an invasive species.
