Basionym: Fucus acinarius Linnaeus Syntype localities: “Habitat in Italia & Oceano australiori” (Linnaeus 1753: 1160). Notes: Silva , Basson & Moe (1996) recommmend consulting Setchell (1933: 209-210) for more information on the lectotype locality of this species. Taxonomic notes: Pelagic species (South & Tittley 1986). See Silva, Basson & Moe (1996) regarding the authorship of this binomial. |
