Thallus erect, light brown with yellow green iridescence, sometimes with dark brown striations. Branching irregular to dichotomous. Branches strapshaped, margin with teeth, often spirally twisted. The plants are erect, bushy growing and 6-15 cm high. The branches are strap-shaped, regularly dichotomously divided, 3-6 mm wide, with spines on the margins and obtuse tips. This species is found on rocks and gravel in lower intertidal to subtidal zones along moderately wave exposed shorelines. |
