Commonly found in tropical and subtropical seas (Huisman & Womersley 1994: 118). Usually on rocks thinly covered with sand, at depths ranging from intertidal rock pools to 15 m (Huisman (2006: 25). |

Type species This is the type species (holotype) of the genus Tricleocarpa. Basionym Corallina cylindrica J.Ellis & Solander Type information Type locality: West Indies (Silva, Basson & Moe 1996: 116). Notes: Huisman & Womersley (1994: 116) notes that the type is lost; lectotypified by Ellis & Solander, 1786, pl. 22, fig.4 (see Papenfuss et al., 1982: 416). |
