Soft, gelatinous, pinkish red, Much-branched fronds, densely matted, with blunt apices, to 100 mm high. Axes segmented, with nodal diaphragms, segments about as broad as long, filled with a watery mucilage. Original publication: Harvey, W.H. (1853).
