Description: |
Only the morphologically more conspicuous Cutleria-phase is described: thlalus erect, light to yellow-brown, also olive-brown, flattened, membranous, with smooth mergins, deeply incised and repeatedly irregular forking, with linear to wedge shaped sections, gradually narrowing towards the tip and dissected apices, fringed by a tuft of hair-like filaments. Without stipe, rhizoidal discoid holdfast (Braune & Guiry, 2011). Original publication: Greville, R.K. (1830).
