Description: Undaria pinnatifida (Harvey) is a brown algae that belongs to the order Laminariales.
In young individuals the thallus is fixed by a ramified holdfast with numerous haptera.
Frond blade-like (lanceolated), the algae can reach an overalled length to about 60 cm or even up to 1m. The sporophyte is golden-brown in colour, with a lighter coloured stipe.
