Specimen originally identified as Bifurcaria tuberculata Stackh.. In September 1961, their identification was revised by J. E. Rodrigues de Mesquita, in Coimbra, for Bifurcaria bifurcata (Velley) R. Ross, according to the publication of Ross, R. (1958). The type of Bifurcaria Stackhouse Species, Journal of the Linnean Society of London, Botany, 55: 753-754. Specimen collection belonging to F. S.de Lacerda (Flora Lusitanica Exsiccata).
Espécime identificado originalmente como Bifurcaria tuberculata Stackh.. Em Setembro de 1961, a sua identificação foi revista, por J. E. de Mesquita Rodrigues,em Coimbra, para Bifurcaria bifurcata (Velley) R. Ross, segundo a publicação de Ross, R. (1958). The type Species of Bifurcaria Stackhouse, Journal of the Linnean Society of London, Botany, 55: 753-754. Espécime pertencente à colecção de F. S. de Lacerda (Flora Lusitanica Exsiccata).
