These plants are usually solitary, its length is approximately 1 meter or even more, connected by a thick conical clamping. Simple or branched axis most of the times up to 1 meter in lenght, flattened, around 1 per 0.4 cm transverse section; it has a smooth apex. Has a lateral branched system which is radially symmetrical, sometimes bifurcate appendages on the branches of higher orders, leaving decurrent bases which cases an impression of an irregular zigzag sketch to the axis. Cryptostomata missing. Aerocysts are present in axes of branches of higher order.
