Description:

Codium tomentosum is a small dark green alga (similar to a green bottle) with a dichotomously branched, cylindrical frond. The frond is solid and spongy with a felt-like touch and has many colourless hairs which can be seen when the plant is immersed in water. The specie can up to 30 cm long and can be found on rocks in the lower shore.

Codium tomentosum is native to Northeast Atlantic Ocean and may be used as food and provide biological, medical and pharmacological activity.
