Description: |
Gelidium spinosum goes from crimson to purplish red and it's a cartilaginous algae. It has distinctly flattened main axis, often tighter at base, ultimate branches short, commonly opposed, spine-like or spathulate. Can be found at pools in lower intertidal and subtidal, generally in low-light habitats, southern and western shores. |
