(detailed information)

Identif Year:  2016
Colecting Site(s):
Cala Domingos, Cales de Mallorca, Mallorca, Spain
Notes: Ana Caetano and Joana Silva ---- Cala Domingos, Cales de Mallorca, Mallorca, Spain ----- Cala Domingos is the largest of the three beaches of Cales de Mallorca, and carries the European Blue flag for its clean water. However, tourists and divers must be aware of the strong currents that make swimming and diving dangerous and sometimes almost impossible. The landscape is absolutely beautiful, with a blue and green sea and some vegetation above the rocks surrounding the clear waters. The sand is almost white and all the characteristics together create a paradise looking scenery.
Description:

Dictyota divaricata is a brown seaweed more common in warmer waters than other brown algae. It’s a small species, with only 3 to 7 cm long and it presents a greenish-brown thin stalk and bifurcations throughout its structure. These bifurcations become progressively more reduced from the stem to the edges, which are thin and have a small diameter.
