Gracilaria multipartita is a macroalgae from the Gracilariaceae family, found on solid surfaces in the upper sublittoral zone, up to 15 meters deep, and tolerates partial coverage by sand or mud. Its translucent fronds range from dull purple to reddish-brown, sometimes appearing faded. The flattened stem expands into blades about 1 mm thick and up to 1 cm wide, branching up to six times in the same plane. The alga can reach lengths of 10 to 30 cm. |
