The macroscopic seaweed Codium tomentosum is a species of the genus Codium and class of Green Algae, Ulvophyceae. This seaweed presents a monogenic cycle, with gametic meiosis. Its gametophyte phase can grow up to 30cm, presenting a very branched thallus with a spongy texture, circular section and it can be found in rocks in the intertidal zone.
