Codium tomentosum is a dark-green spongy ramified seaweed that belongs to the family Codiaceae on the Bryonsidales order in the Phylum Chlorophyta and was described by Stackhouse in 1797. This species can grow till 30cm, and it's covered in uncoloured fur that are visible when submerged. It's native to the Northwest of the Atlantic Ocean, south of the Britain isles till Azores isles and Cabo Verde. It's fairly easy to find during low tides on exposed rocks by using their disc to stay attached to them. |
