Gelidium pulchellum is a macroalgae that belongs to the Rhodophyta phylum, with dark redish brown fronds, usually mesuring 5 to 10 centimeters tall. It has a irregular branched thallus, with a cartilaginous structure that is slighly rigid. Its branches also have tetrasporangia, that produce the tetraspores, that will further germinate to form gametophytes. It's commonly found in costal areas, usually in rocky shores. |
