The algae Codium tomentosum Stackhouse is a marine macroalgae belonging to the phylum Chorophyte which is included in the green algae. It has a spongy texture, quite branched and can beach up to 30 cm. It is native to the Northheast off the Atlantic Ocean (from the British Isles to the south os the Azores and Cape Verde) and is normally fixed to a rocky substrate. At a comercial levei it is used in moisturizers due to its high amount of glucuronic acid. |
