Description:

The spicies Undaria pinnatifida belongs to the Phylum Ochrophyta and the Class Phaeophyceae which includes brown algae. They are an invasive spicies. These algae grow quickly and can reach up to 1.5 meters in length. Due to the high content of nutrients, specifically lipids these algae have a high economic value, which is why they are used in the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic sectors. They have chorophyll a, c and some carotenoids that give them their characteristic color. They are common in fresh marine waters, along rocky coasts and very important for agriculture, having economic importance.
