Reddish-brown to pinkish shades. Gelatinous, soft, and slippery to the touch. Discoid holdfast (5-15 mm in diameter) violet to crimson-red, usually green at the top thallus. Flat and membranous thallus, formed by thin blades. Short stipe up to 2 cm, fronds 10-35 cm, simple linear to lanceolate, narrowing at the ends, both at the base and the stipe, not divided or irregularly dividing from the base.
