Ulva rigida is a leafy green alga with a laminar, shiny, and intensely green thallus; the specimen is approximately 9 cm in total length. The blade is thin, flexible, and resistant, formed by two layers of cells with smooth or slightly wavy margins, attaching itself to the substrate by a small basal disc.
