Situated on a small and beautiful bay surrounded by rocks, in the East of the greenish Azores Archipelago. Harbor and a great bathing area, has a microclimate dry and wholesome. This amazing parish was distinguishing for its natural and green areas.
Description:

 

Amphiroa rigida is an alga that belong to Filo Rhodophyta, red algae. Thallus of this algae greatly calcified, forming clusters. Its branches are cylindrical and dichotomous. If the specimen is alive the color is more or less light violet or sometimes white in well-lit sites. When the specimen dry, it become violet to pink.
