Description: Lomentaria articulata is a cylindrical, mucilaginous red alga, bright red to brownish-red in color, with a hollow thallus, dichotomous branching, and oval segments separated by marked constrictions, giving it an articulated appearance. The specimen measures about 16 cm, presenting delicate fronds and upper branches that frequently end in two apices resembling rabbit ears.
